"Corona" - A modern tale of an old universe.

"Corona"

An Antony Wells (GamePlay)

"You can copy us, this, all. But you can not be us."

INT - ???? - ?????

We are upon a giant expanse of land. The fog colors in the distance a grim grey.
But up, above, like a giant ball hangs the sun. Burning down the house.

Seven primitive humanoids rush across the horizon screaming and shouting inaudible things.

On the beat of a ancient drum the screen flexes inwards and then back out.

  NARRATOR
Primitive life. The origin of the species, the crucible of existence.

A ape roars a high pitched groan. We pan around to reveal,

A monkey, huge, bigger than present day. It soars across the landscape like an unstoppable force.

Several humanoids run from him.

  NARRATOR
A waking nightmare. Yet, from which all dreams are given.

The ape reaches them, it is just about to strike as we pan away and hear only the screams.

  NARRATOR
Our evolution has been sporadic, and not always forward.

Back on the sun, we focus on it's shimmering presence. That Ape, roams past us, his paws and arms covered in blood.

He soars off into the distance, which rattles in the haze.

  NARRATOR
You have to wonder...
You have to wonder just how special we are. If we are at all.

Time picks up and the sun that beats before us, fades into the darkness of space.
A sky of stars replace it. One shines brighter than them all.

We focus on it. Not moving, instead panning and zooming fixed in place.

   NARRATOR
Earth.

We suddenly take off like a rocket ascending. Roaring and reaching beyond the atmosphere, Into space. We storm through the stars like a god strolling through his invention. We suddenly reach that star. Earth.
It is present day.  Satellites and debris litter the corona.

   NARRATOR
Europa 7. The first world found to harbor sentient life.
We are just leaving home to play our neighbors a visit. Let the banquet begin...
